Here is the trunk bar installed on the floor of the trunk
It's easy to install but make sure you install it on either side of the frame rail under the car.
A closer view of the side. Nice heavy bar
All stainless steel hardware is being used for this.
3/8 inch hardware in stainless. Here is the underside view of the installl.
Here I missed the side of the frame rail so had to drill through and mount it here.
Here is the urethane you need to use to make this work.
The tools I used to make it all happen
Cut out some cardboard to cover up the mounts as shown below.
Add the clear packing tape as shown so that the urethane doesn't stick to the covers.
Here they are for doing twom mounts.
Fill one side of the engine mount with urethane as shown. Fill to the top.
Press the covers on as shown until cured.
Here's the open side that still needs to be done.
Fill again until it's to the top and now both sides should be filled to the top.
Another view of the other mount being done.
Make sure that the urethant comes through to the other side which still has to be filled.
Here they are being cured in the sun. It takes about 2 days to cure in a warm dry place.
I put these in the trunk to cure because in the summer, it gets good and hot.
Once again, the tools to make this all happen
The finished product and looking good.
Nice smooth filled mounts that will last the life of the car.
These are as good as any mount you buy but way cheaper and they work.
The urethane is really tough.
