Team Melee's 2005 Tournament Schedule
Jan. 27-31st, 05  MGO-Mardi Gras Open.    We will not play in this NPPL event but will be there to see the pro's play, see how they work their magic on the field and maybe come away with a sense of what we need to do to become a dominant team.    Sean, Kenneth, James, Andy and Travis will be going and having a good time watching the pro's play and more.
Jan. 29,30 2005  MGO-Mardi Gras Open has been cancelled for the team.   Instead, we are going to a Team Diesel tryout for James, Sean and any other person on the Team Melee's roster.   Here is the information for the tryouts being held at Ocean Springs SwatPaintball park.   We seriously doubt we'll make the Diesel team but will come away a better team, better players and will also improve Team Melee as well with the experience.   Even if one of the Team Melee crew make the Diesel roster, Melee will still be going strong and continue on their way to the top.
Feb. 26th, 2005. Bob's Paintball 3 MAN  TOURNAMENT for Rookie/Young Guns (no prior major events).  This event to be held at Bob's Tournament Field, 3428 Dawes Road, Mobile, Alabama 36695 on Saturday, February 26, 2005.
1St. $400.00 CASH,  2nd. $275 CASH,  3rd. Place (3) JT Packs with Pods,.  4th. Place (3) Cases of Paint/Pods.
This will be our first tournament of the season and hope to do good.   We'll see if all of the practice has been worth it.
Update, the practice was worth it.    We came in 8th place out of 20 teams, won our 1st 6 games straight and was some good balling by the Melee crew.
Sean beat out a 3 on 1 to get us into the finals and can't thank him enough for being THE MAN.    We got pooped out in the finals but in the prelims, scored 620 points out of a possible 900.   Pictures are posted.  Congrats to Team 3 Amigos for 1st.
May 29th, 2005    This will be our first in three tournaments (series) held at Swatpaintball in Ocean Springs MS.
It's the threesome tournament with teams from all over the South from La., Fl., 'bama, and several other states that love Swat's painball tourneys.    $180 dollar entry fee for the Novice/ Am class in which we're entering.    Sean, Matt, James, and hopefully Kenneth will be there on the roster playing for a berth on the podium.     Points will be accrued so that at the end of the series, a champion will be crowned.
We lost 3 games and tied one before the heavens opened up with hail, strong rain, and cool temps.    The team decided to leave so we could play another day.   All on the roster got a chance to play and congrats to Matt for playing beyond his experience.
July24th. 2005  SwatPaintball will hold their second of three tournaments in the "3Sum" series.   We'll be attending and staying in the Division 1 class.   Same entry fees will be applied and all on the roster will play in this tournament.
We hope to do better for this division, it's a move up for us and bring our game up to our standards and get a place finish in this tournament.    Update.   We came in last place but won 4 out of 9 prelim games.   The games we lost were very close and could''ve gone either way and are proud of our players in showing we can ball in D1.   Our first complete D1 tourney and did good considering the odds to win.  Congrats to Pedros Protection, D1 winners and Shockers in D2.   Thank you Swat for holding a good tourney. More here.

September 5th. 2005  Swatpaintball will have the last of the "3Sum" series tournament playing X-ball.    Yup, X-ball.
This should be most fun and a new experience for the team.  X-ball rules apply in this one and will wait to see how the format will be at the SwatPaintball/ Warped Sportz fields.   Stay tuned for more information and word has it, may do a 5 man even in October with a couple of players that want to join for the 5-man fun.
This has been postponed as Hurricane Katrina has devastated the Gulf Region.
July 16th. 2005  This tournament has been cancelled and was a team decision to do so.   The money for the Brandon MS 3-man Am event is going to be used in the purchase of a Shocker or Karnivore.
June 19th. 2005  SwatPaintball will be holding a 2-man tournament for two classes of players.
Novice/ Am and Beginner/ Rookie.    We'll be playing the Novice/ Am players and should cost about 35 bucks a head.
If everything works out right, we'll be breaking the team up to two teams so that we'll have Melee Blue and Melee Black representing the Melee roster.    This should be an extremely fun event and hope to do well.
2nd place finish in D1 and 3rd place in overall points scored in the tournament for D1 and D2 teams.    Sean and Kenneth brought up their game to make the big win.    Here are pics of the winning teams and us, of course.
October, 2005  SwatPaintball will be having a 5-man event with a Team Diesel clinic for those wanting to be taught by the best.
If everything works right, should have a couple of more players wanting to join us for the 5-man event in which will be Team Melee's first ever 5-man and a preview of things to come.   We can't wait to try our hands at 5-man.
Dates and times soon to follow.
This has been cancelled as Hurricane Katrina has devastated the Gulf Coast.
December 3,4th, 2005   The last leg of the SwatPaintball/ Warped Sportz 3-Sum tournament series will be held on these dates, featuring the 5-man format, PSP modes, with teams from the series competing in the final leg of this series.
We'll be there as a 5-man unit to finish our series.
This will be our final tournament for the 2005 season.
November 19,2005  FMJ, or Full Metal Jacket Field in Pensacola will be holding their first ever 3-man tournament.   We've played against the FMJ crew, practiced with them in Florida and will be there for this tournament.   $50 dollar entry fee, per team and 20 team maximum with bring your own air and paint.    No PSP modes, bouncing or funny electronics to the markers wth the FMJ crew doing the reffing.   Trophies for 1st throug 3rd will be given to each team member of the winning crews.  Thanks Rodney and Chris and hope it's a success.
