04/30/07
Team Melee welcomes Chris to the roster. A paintball player with years of experience, talent, and a voracious appetite to win, we welcome Chris to the crew.
Chris is a former team player for Mob Town Army and a more than welcome addition. Thanks Chris for considering to play with Melee.
In other news, Sean just got a new Invert Mini, in silver, and sold the once beloved Shocker.
Practice coming up on May 6th with all team members expected to play.
Rumour have it that we'll possibly be doing a CFOA event but is only talk for now. Knowing the team, will probably be a reality.
More to come.
07/19/06 We had a good practice at Bob's Paintball with the Bobcatz and Kenneth was there to practice with the team and do some general playing at he field.
Erik from the Outkast team is a strong contender for the Bobcatz roster and should be voted in by the next practice which will be this coming Sunday.
We're now doing strictly 5man format so that we can get ready for the 5man event at Bob's and also to get ready for the PSP World Cup. I now have the Bobcatz registered with the PSP and am getting the team to get their PSP ID's. Jersey's and Pants will be coming soon as we decide on the colors we want and what we want for the fully custom jersey's we'll be wearing.
Sean's been playing really good and ready to progess to the next level if he decides to pick up the pace. James is ever training to get ready for the 5man at Bob's on Sept. 17th and for his big debut in the PSP's World Cup. Time to let it all hang out and show the world that old people can play hard too.
Hopefully Kenneth stays consistent with coming to practice and can get on the Bobcatz roster.
This is really a good, up, and coming team that with the coaching by James, should make lots of inroads to being a D3 level team before long. The September tournament should be a good measure of how we are as a team and where we're going.
Stay tuned, things are getting better.
10/22/06 Well, due to a knee injury in the tournament, have pretty much given up on the tournament and hardcore paintball.
With the past breakup of the Melee team and only Sean and I still playing, will be pretty much laying low in the paintball arena for a while. My knee has to heal but am still training hard to keep in shape and will hopefully be back to play on a recreational type of paintball as opposed to an all out hardcore 'baller.
Sean is working now as well as staying in school so with work, makes it a bit more tough to play the national tournaments he once played (for now) and practice. His shifts bring him home from midnight to as late as 2AM so come Sunday morning for practice, brings home a very tired person.
I am no longer coaching for the Bobcatz team and will be the first time since I started tournament paintball that I either haven't coached or owned a team. I'll now be able to play on a recreational level, still be competitive, and maybe come spring of 2007, be able to get on a team and get back to competitive paintball.
My days in paintball are not over, just relaxing for a bit so that I can rehab the knee again, put some money back into my car so that I can have a project car again, and generally pursue my passion for cars again.
Sean is still with the Mob Town Army and his future is very bright in paintball. If he continues in his game and ever improves, will be the pro player he's always wanted to be. Now if he could just get the break he needs to get picked up by a pro team, would the dream of his young life.
Lastly, I'm fixing up and rebuilding Kenneths Shocker to use now instead of the Angel. The Angel will be used as a backup for me when I get back into the game with more vigor.
I'll update again soon.
01/27/06 Some updates as it's been awhile.
First, here's some pictures of the FMJ Cup in which we beat the best team but lost to the lesser teams. We didn't place or make it to the finals and yes, were a bit disappointed.
There were some mistakes made which cost us a few games and it's the little mistakes that are killing us. Bad decision making and hesitating will get you killed everytime and it shows.
All in all, a great tournament with some great teams that showed up and in spite of the loss, had a good time being there. Thanks Rodney and Chris for holding such a well planned, run tournament and hope to be winners at next years Cup.
December 4th, we had our first 5man event playing D1 exclusively.
Due to some last minute rule changes, had Blake (Daryl's close friend) take the place of James as James' Marker didn't meet the 15bps cap, even with the 12volt Revy. It seemed like punishment for James for not having a more up to date marker and decided to sit this tourney out and let Blake play in his place.
It was an excellent tourney and even though we came in dead last in D1, wound up beating the best team there (Atomic)). Every game was close and no D1 team rolled us in this tournament.
Many thanks to Daryl, Blake for playing for us in this tournament and representing the Melee crew so well.
Sean, Matt, and Kenneth played exceedingly well and if it were not for the little mistakes that were made, would've had a few more wins in this tournament.
More updates;
Team Melee had inducted Daryl onto the team as he was more than qualified to be on the team, would've been a good asset to the team but declined after being told that he was added to the roster. Daryl, we would've love to have you on board but can understand the decision you made. Good luck to you in your paintball career and with your abilities, see no reason why we won't see you in the pages of some paintball magazines soon.
Kenneth has pretty much quit the team as he can't be gotten a hold of by the team, so in essence to the rest of us, is no longer on the team. Kenneth, if you're reading this, get in contact with us so we can continue our progress to stardom.
With Kenneths ability in the game, would be a tremendous waste of such ability, skill, and passion to be wasted. Kenneth, we miss you man. Please, get in touch.
Lastly, James is passing a kidney stone of 3mm in size. It's painfull to say the least but once its over, will be back in full form to continue on in the game he so loves and is most passionate about.
Sean is still kicking ass when he plays and is a true leader of the team with star qualities that just beg for some fully sponsored, national team to pick up. Matt is ever improving and even though had started late in the team roster, has picked up the pace to rival us that have been on the team since day one. Keep up the good work Matt.
We'll be having our first practice on Feb. 4th and 5th, doing plenty of run and shoot, breakout drills, and anything that we lack to improve our game so that we can dominate this year. Get ready boys, it's time to show who we are and what we want out of this sport.
Later.
1/06/05 Happy New Year to all. Practice has been tough and came off of a two day practice session this past weekend.
We've just posted about our first tournament of the year at Bobs Paintball on the 26th of February. Here is the forums for that event and wish everyone the best of luck in it.
We've also decided to keep our roster a 3-man for now until things get a bit better with the finances, dedicated players and a few wins under our belt. Our alternative Matt has been at several of our practices and seems to be coming around in his game.
Some recball for this weekend to help ease some of the tension for some fun so that is what we are going to do.
It's nice to have some fun when all we've done is practice, practice and practice some more. More practice after recball though.
See you next time.
11/18/04 Welcome to our new segment of the Team Melee site.
Here, we'll be talking about what we are doing as a team and other things that we do.
First, we've finally got our practice field and it's a beauty. This field is the best we've played on period. We've been practicing for about 5 weeks now and should continue to do so on a weekly basis to improve our skills and do some drills.
Second, we plan on getting rid of our ghetto pvc and tarp, 4x3 bunkers with air bunkers in the Spring of '05. They'll either be used or will slowly invest in enough bunkers so that we can do 3 and 5man practice.
We hope our practice at the Paintball Panic in Pensacola isn't washed out with the rain that is in the forecast. We may have some scrimmage with some of the Panhandle AllStars team so hope things work out with the weather.
"Draw of the Hat" tournament at SwatPaintball is coming up on the 28th and we're doing a practice on Friday before the tournament so that we can be ready.
That's it for now, see you next time and remember to be safe and have fun playing paintball.

11/23/04 Well, we didn't make it to the Paintball Panic for some recball or scrimmage. The weather was just too much to handle and decided to stay home and go in about two weeks. Sean and Kenneth are mad at me for doing this but the money saved will go toward the next trip to the Panhandle.
We've got team practice this Friday after Thanksgiving and will be running some drills to hone us for the tournament we have on Sunday. This will be our last tournament for the season and will begin again in '05, once the schedules come out for any series.
Kenneth just put a downpayment on an ,04 Dye Matrix as the Impulses haven't been as reliable as we would like.
Have a great Thanksgiving ppl and enjoy.
11/28/04 "Draw of the hat tournament" was a blast. Sean and Kenneth made it to the event but James didn't as he just would'ntget up for the event, lazy bum.
Here is the photos from the event and once again, congrats to Sean and Kenneth for attending the Sean for bringing home the 3rd place trophy for the event.
12/06/04 Next practice is on Dec.18, 2004 for the team and hope that we'll be able to hit the Paintball Panic in Pensacola the following week. If not, we'll hold normal practice after Christmas and Panic after New Years Day.
We may also be trying out for Team tryouts for Diesel/ Vicious at the Swat Paintball Park in Ocean Springs. We feel if we don't make their team, we'll have a better knowledge of what we lack in our personal skills and talent to improve for the next time and for Team Melee improvement. Btw, we're not quitting the Team Melee, it will continue til we become Amateur status. Til next time.
12/14/04 We'll be holding team practice for the next 5 weeks. We're getting ready for the Team Diesel tryouts on Jan.29th,'05.
We'll be welcoming Matt to the team practice as he's known the team since it's inception and hope that he will learn fast and hard to make the Team Melee roster. Good luck Matt. Our trip to Pensacola will be held off until after the Team Diesel tryouts.
If we don't post again, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everybody.
12/19/04 We celebrated our first year anniversary for the team today. We had a great practice as Matt, Destin, and ourselves held a great practice. The winds were blowing hard but persevered through constantly moving bunkers back to their position as the wind was blowing so hard. Matt is a team hopeful and although he's just a beginner, is showing promise of being a hard player with the want to learn more. Only time will tell on his ability to learn fast enough to make the team in time for our first '05 tournament.
1/19/05 Well we missed another weekend of practice as Sean and James had to get some new Hoppers. Empire Reloader was the purchase and are happy with them.
We'll be doing recball this Saturday or Sunday so we can have some fun and next week, will be doing the Team tryouts for Team Diesel/ Vicious. We're preparing for it and hope to do well.
Matt is still working on getting on the team, is practicing at home and hope he makes it to the next couple of practices.
Travis and Andy from the Panhandle, sorry guys, we're just too far to accomodate you guys onto the team. With all of the plans we had, sorry to dissappoint and are looking for local players now as this will work better for the team, practices and tournies.
We're still teething as a team and haveing to go through some changes to get what we want in the roster.
Until next time, happy ballin.
2/03/05 The Team Diesel tryouts were a success. Kenneth had to work, James is too old to make that great of a team and Sean really did shine in his abilities in front of the panel of Diesel, Avalanche, and Strange pros. There was Ed Poorman (Team Avalanche and Warped Sportz owner), Greg Pauley (Team Diesel co-owner along with Gerwin Henn), Branden Mayo (Team Avalanche), Brock, Ben, and Russ. Austin from Team Strange. Pictures can be found here.
Saturday were drills in which James sucked and Sean did well but were not up to the pro level to really be good at itl
Sunday was 5 on 5 matches between all of the ppl trying out and the Pro teams. It was fun, learning and a humbling experience for Sean and I and have learned an immense amount.
We'll be taking the weekend of 2/5/05 off from paintball and be right back into it the following week.
Our next tournament will be at Bobs Paintball in Mobile Al and will be ready for our first of the year.
Stay tuned.
2/21/05 Our tournament is coming up in a few days and can't wait to get in and play.
We've added Matt to the roster for us as Kenneth hasn't called or not been heard from in weeks. We guess he just has been too busy for the team and accordingly, took on Matt to fill his position. Kenneth is a core team member and will always be on the team but just wish he'd get in contact with us.
Matt, congrats on getting on the team and getting your feet wet with your first ever tournament at the end of this week.
Since Matt is relatively new to the team, have relegated him to backman position, James will take mid/ back position, Kenneth the mid/ front, and Sean, front position.
We'll have pics of the tourney and will post as we get them posted.
Sean took us into the finals with a 3on1 win against Team Impact Black for our way into the finals. Sean, you're the man.
This was our best tournament yet and were very aggressive in the Prelims. Sean and James (his first time playing front) did excellent going to the snake and Dorito on the 50's to flank the opposition. Matt for his first time, got away with alot of knowledge of the game. Thanks Matt for being cool headed.
Kenneth is still on the team but has since got a new truck so has missed a few things with the team. He'll be back and strong again or so we hope. Stay tuned, practice sessions will resume about the end of the month.
5/04/05 It's been awhile since we've posted but here's what's up.
It's been practice again for the last two weeks as we're getting ready for the 3-sum tournament being held at the Warped Sports Paintball park in Ocean Springs, MS. We've had some excellent practices with all on the roster attending so that we can improve our game.
Kenneth is back and in full swing again and much improved in his playing ability. Matt is improving with every practice and will be a good backman for the team.
Smart Parts Ion is on layaway for the team in black/ blue so that we could have a good, electronic backup.
More to come as we're back at it again and evermore hungry to play.
5/23/05 We've had a couple of great practices and should be ready for the May29th "Threesum" tournament coming up.
James got shot up by Kenneth and Sean in some great 'ballin by the two. It was one of those days where James was playing good but Sean and Kenneth had their game on the proceeded to kick some James butt.
Matt had an excellent practice previously and is making strides in getting good. It won't be long before he'll have upped his level of play alongside the rest.
May 29th tournament will have all 4 on the roster playing for a berth for 1st place. We're playing Division 1 as we feel we've improved enough to try the big boys and hope to do well.
With financial situation like it is and parents of James needing help monetarily etc, probably won't be able to make the June19th tournament. Unless some money comes in or have outside help, won't be able to make it.
We're still doing the 3Sum Series tournaments to the end but won't have the funds to practice as much as previously.
This doesn't mean Melee if folding or haning up their gloves, just having to regroup financially (as we're not outside sponsored) so that we can continue strong in the fall.
Pictures and how we do after the 29th tourney coming soon.
6/10/05 The May29th 3sum tournament ended abruptly for us. We lost the first two games, tied for the third and lost our fourth game, all before our fifth game when the heavens broke loose. Rain, quarter size hail, wind and dropping temperatures kept us inside until things got better. They did't and rained so much, the fields were huge puddles. The tournament continued ala Mardi Gras Open style but the team decided to quit as our equipment is too much to have to play and lose everything we have in markers, hoppers, etc. Playing this Division 1 level made us realize that we're not sponsored enough to lose equipment and have sponsors replace it when needed.
In spite of the losses in our first time in Division One, coninue to believe we have the ability to compete at this level and will prove ourselves at the July24th, second stage of the 3sum series. No disappointment if we don't win but you can't improve your game if you don't play the best.
Sean and Kenneth have a 2man tournament coming on June 19th and again will be playing in the Advanced level for Ion guns if they do well. Our second "B" team won't make the tourney as the money just isn't there to support two team this time around.
2 man followup to come.
6/21/05 2nd place in D1 division at the Swatpaintball 2-man "Ion-ilation" tournament.
Sean and Kenneth played this tournament and although they lost the first 3 out of 4 games, came back to win the next 8 in a row with near perfect scores. 673 total point out of 900, 3rd best points in the tourney.
Sean and Kenneth played very aggressively to win those matches and if they were on cue for the first 4 games, would've come away with a commanding win for the Ion markers for 1st place.
Here are some pictures of the event, scoreboard, etc.
July 24th 3-sum tourney will be our next test as we continue the series with hopefully better weather.
Thank you Sean and Kenneth for playing the Melee way and playing your hearts out for the runner up win.
7/07/05 We were invited to Pensacola Paintball field by Dwight of GCPC. We decided to go and had a great time at the field.
It was hot, shall we repeat, hot. 98 degree heat with a heat index of at least 110. The guys at Team Full Metal Jacket were great host to us and the teams, recballers were some good sports when we played. Kenneth had a field day and had a great run through which really got the players that were'nt playing riled up with the move. Kudo's to Kenneth for getting his game on and upping his level of play. Same goes to Matt for his desire to better his play and do what it takes to win. Sean, what can we say, he's the man and if it weren't for the Impulse failing, would''ve had a much better first game agains the competition.
Rodney and Chris, we thank you for the warm welcome to the fields and will be back to play in the near future. Once a month after tourney season sounds good to us.
We're also skipping the Brandon tournament so that we can take the money for that tourney to buy a good high end marker for the team. We don't need anymore failures, ever again.
Sean and James will be doing some drills in the next week before we do the second round of the 3-sum tournament.
More coming soon.
7/24/05 Our July24th tournament at Swatpaintball went well for our first completed tourney in the D1 bracket. We won 4 out of 9 games rolling the other team in the first game in less than 30 seconds, losing a few and winning the last 3 out of 4 games in the prelims. We wound up last in the standings but with gun failures, extreme heat, came away with a feeling that we can compete with any Novice/ Am team out there. The losses were close ones, just silly mistakes you don't make in D1.
Sean is getting an '05 Shocker in blue with Vision board so congrats to him for the upgrade and Kenneth has already bought his '04 Shocktech Intimidator so the two main front guys should ripping in the next tournament and won't have to worry about their markers failing. Nothing like a little confidence in your marker when you need it.
Practice coming up in Florida in a few weeks in which we'll have a couple of players coming with us to practice with and possibly join the team if they make the cut.
Matt is about to get a Smart Parts Ion for him to use and have his own personal marker when needed. Sure beats having to use a mechanical 'Cocker and puts a little less stress on my e-bladed Cocker.
I'm so proud of our team for doing so well in D1 this year. You guys rock and are proving to all that Team Melee is a team to not be taken likely. More to come.
8/09/05 Sean finally got his '05 Shocker and can see it here. He's so proud of it and with Kenneth having the Timmy and Sean with the new Shocker, have no excuse to playing well or better with the confidence of the new gats.
Matt will have his Ion in a couple of weeks and are planning the QEV mod to it and are also going to order the AKA Sidewinder for the Ion too.
Things are going good for everyone and unfortunately, can't play as often as we would like. Money is tough these days but come Fall, will be back at the weekly practice sessions with hard training in those things we lack in tournament play.
Airball field is coming in the next few months with a 10-12 piece set coming before the end of the year for our practice field in Lyman. This is something the team has been looking forward to and can't wait for it to be. We may also miss the 5man tourney scheduled for October so that we can spend that money for the air bunkers and get more practice so that we can be a strong team for the '06 season. More to come, so stay tuned.
9/12/05 Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast and paintball.
Matt and Kenneth lost everything including their homes, jobs, but their families are ok and doing fine. Kenneth is now residing in Monroe Louisiana and miss him being around and no telling when he'll be with us again for practice or paintball for that matter.
Matt is still local but living with relatives and again, not sure what will become of the team after this mass destruction from Katrina.
Me (James) and Sean rode out the storm like true adrenalin freaks we are and got some awe inspiring video of the destruction that Katrina brought.
We were all smart enough to keep our gear and Kenneths gear is at our house, safe and dry, waiting for our man to get back to us for some paintball.
I personally wish Godspeed to all that are on the team for their families, friends, and so on and to those that lost loved ones, homes, and jobs along the Gulf Coast and New Orleans La. May God bring you luck, compassion, and quick recovery.
We''ve not given up hope though. We're still planning on getting that airball field in the next couple of weeks and to resume some form of practice by sometime in October if at all possible.
Our hopes are still high that we can come together and play as a complete team once more.
More to come.
Please, a moment of silence for those victims of Katrina................
10/06/05 Things are getting more back to normal for the team and it's players.
Matt just received his Smart Parts Ion and is ready to show the others how good he can play ball.
Sean loves his Shocker and had one of the best practices at SwatPaintball field with all of the locals getting ready for the World Cup event coming soon. The competition he faced was tough but showed all there that Sean can play with the best of them and further gives meaning to "in your face Paintball" we like to use as our motto.
James just put some money down on a new Angel (WDP) Speed, '05 edition so that the Cocker can be retired or at least relegated to backup status. It's been a great, reliable marker but with our continued committment to better our game, need all of the help we can with new equipment.
We'll be having practice again this Sunday at Warped Sportz paintball in Ocean Springs with Matt, Sean, Kenneth (hopefully), me, and a prospective hopeful wanting to try to make the team coming out to practice. I (James) probably won't be playing in this practice as I want to evaluate Matt, Sean, Kenneth, and Michael on how they play and what can be improved in their play to get ready for the Dec.3rd tournament.
Practice again the following week as we get back to the near weekly practice sessions at Swat and our private field.
Our air bunker set for the private field has been delayed as James continues to pay for the Angel Speed and gets ready to invest in the PaintballJunkies Co-Sponsorship program which we are aiming of getting for all on the team. Here is the information on how we would be Co-Sponsored by Paintball Junkies. We all hope that it happens and would be one of the first sponsorships for the team.
More to come, so stay tuned.
10/10/05 After a couple of good practice sessions, will practice again with the Swatpaintball guys this coming Sunday at the Warped Sportz/ Swat fields in Ocean Springs. James will finally be getting in on the action as the time for evaluation of the players that need it is temporarily over as we prepare for an upcoming tournament in Florida at the FMJ fields.
Sean and Matt had a good practice and even though Matt was a bit intimidated in his first practice in quite some time, got better and better in his game as the day progressed.
Michael, a future hopeful with the team did good but like most diamonds in the rough, will need some work on his in-bunker skills to round out his skills along with some more tutoring on the game. He'll be joining us in a couple more practice sessions until we make that final decision on his status of joining the roster. Good luck Michael, work hard on those things you need to compete at the next level and you'll be joining us soon.
Our airbunker set is being delayed for upcoming tournaments as the '05 Speed for James is going to take longer as well.
Matts Ion is shooting superbly and as always, created controversy with the Swat crew on the ROF with the new Ion. Most can't believe that the Melee crew can shoot as fast with their markers as they can. We've been called for guns with rebound, bouncing guns, or markers with ramping until we show them that it's our fingers that do the talking on the field and not illegal markers.
When the refs try to duplicate the ROF, they can't until handed to the player that owns the marker and shows them it's our constant practice at home, dry firing our gats in hopes to be the best at our game. We are constantly proving this each and every time we enter the field.
We can't wait for next Sunday to play, practice, and let everyone know, Melee was there. ;-)
10/26/05 The last two weeks have been great. Practice at SwatPaintball Park has been exceptional with different teams practicing each week. This past weekend we practiced against the XPB Shockers team and Team Impact. Gerwin and the SwatPaintball crew were there to also practice and was one of the best practice sessions we've had so far.
Matts skills are improving with every practice and can hold is own when things get tough now. Congrats on pulling out a win in one of the practice games in which you shot it out with one of the Impact guys, one on one and won.
Michael couldn't make the practice as his leg required surgery and hope he gets well to resume practice with the team in hopes of making the roster. Get better Michael, you missed an excellent practice session.
Sean had another great day but every once in a while, your game is a bit off and Sunday was that day for Sean. In spite of the off day, Sean is a hard player to beat, off day or not.
James had one of his best practice sessions yet and all of the hard work, keeping fit, studying films of paintball has paid off as his gunfighting skills really shined Sunday.
The Team is growing in confidence now and if things keep going the way it is, will be continuing to make strides as a formidable team that everyone will know.
We're taking a week or two off so that we can pay for the FMJ tournament in Florida and the final leg of the 3-Sum series in December. We hope to do well and place in those tournaments which are 3man and 5man events, respectively.
We'll also be looking for experience players to add to our Roster. Front/ Mid man is preferred right now as our back positions are filled. Click here to learn more about how to join our roster.
We've not heard from Kenneth in quite some time and are worried about him. Kenneth, call us if possible. You're missing out on some great practice sessions and would be proud of the way we're playing.
Til next time......
11/02/05 Great news, Kenneth is back and will be practicing with us on the 6th of November at SwatPaintball Park. He's eager to get out and ball it up with the best and shake the rust off this weekend.
We finally go the Shocktech Intimidator working and shooting properly as the solenoid had to be completely rebuilt from the abuse of the previous owner. PBRiews.com gave us the information for setting the marker up as well and thank them for the stickie they had for all of the settings.
We now have a basic full 5 man roster once we get Michael inducted onto the team. That decision won't be made until after the 1st o the new year in 2006 and when his game up to the standards we hold. It won't be long though, Michaels a fast learner and trying hard to make the roster. Keep it up Mike.
Sean is sick with a cold or flu and hope he gets well for practice this Sunday.

11/10/05 Another practice at Swat for this weekend and hope that the RockIt Kids will be there to practice along side some of the locals. It would be nice to battle it out with the best ballers to come out of Louisiana in some time.
Kenneths Timmy is rockin' and rollin' now and performed flawlessly once we got the LPR and HPR set.
James will be practicing with the crew and hope he brings his "A" game with him.
Michael who has been practicing with the team in hopes of making the roster got a last chance to get his game up to our measure of what we expect from our team. We're serious about our game, our goals, and even though we have the most fun together, have high demands in which none on the roster mind achieving.
Our new hopeful for the roster is Brian, aka "Moose". He's 14, going on 15 and a paintball warrior. With his diminutive size, fearless jaunts down the field, should prove to be a Melee prospect very soon.
Good luck Michael, Moose, and hope your endeavors are favorable for the roster.
We can't wait for the FMJ tourney and hope practice goes well.
See you next time.
11/16/05 The team has decided on who will be playing with us for the 5man event at Swatpaintballs 3-sum finale.
Daryl, congratulations on the team pick for helping us do our first 5man event, playing D1.
Michael, you're a great player but need some more work to play with us at our level. You've got some great moves and play but still lack the discipline it takes to bring your game to the next level.
Moose, we enjoyed you practicing with us and with your fearless movements you have in the game, will still have a good chance of making the team in '06. We all agree you're fearless and perfect for the job but in this our final tournament of the season, required a person with a bit more experience to battle it out with the best. You're always invited to our practices to play with us on the team, to learn from us and eventually make our roster. Keep making those strides in your game, listen and you'll be there.
Practice went fine for the team with the exception that Sean was sick with a bad, sore throat, and James had bad chest congestion which limited his time for practice to only 3 games. His 3rd game was the game in which he got the rust out, made a decent move to the snake but decided to be stupid and peak where the opponent was posting.
Kenneth had another good practice session in which he brought his "A" game to play. Kenneth, nice to have you back and playing better than ever.
FMJ tourney is at hand and we're ready. We'll be taking pictures of this one and the weather will be perfect.
Later.
2/13/06 Well, alot has happened since the last entry.
We had two days of back to back practice in which we did drills. Drills included breakouts, sweetspotting on the breakout, run and shoot drills and finally jousting at the end of drills. Everyone seemed to have learned something and came away with the feeling that it was a good couple of days for James, Sean, Matt, and Kenneth. Yes, Kenneth did show and did great on the drills. Matt too, showed signs of improvement in his run and shoot game.
We will be doing this again in the very near future as we feel that the extra drill time may improve us enough to increase the intensity we need to move up another level.
The following week on the 12th of Feb, we went to Bobs Paintball in Dawes Alabama for some team practice in which Sean, James, and Kenneth went for some 5-man x-ball and tourney style 5-man practice. Choppa PB, PanHandle Allstars, WolfPack, and Extreme Heat were all there in attendance for practice on the 12th.
Sean got the most play time in as he was asked several times to fill in for a couple of teams that didn't have enough players and he played excellently as always.
Kenneth and James only had 2 games in on the whole day and that sucked. We were hoping for many more games to play s that we too could be as good as Sean but worked out to where the PanHandle guys just took over the field.
It doesn't matter though as we're going back next week to practice again and get some more play time in.
Sean had the move of the day during x-ball practice and really shined. He was at his 40, snake side and basically did a run through, getting the guy in his mirror out and taking out the guy in the standup on the back left too. It was such an awesome move that the guy in the back standup spun on Sean, shooting him several times where he should've walked off of the field clean. It pissed Sean off and made the guy in the standup look like he was 2 inches tall. Apologies were in order and all went fine after the little mishap.
Also, Sean may be picked up by another team that will be going to one of the major events, playing D3 X-ball in Las Vegas. If this pans out for Sean, would be what we worked so hard for in his paintball career and Sean is definitely deserving of this as his game has come to that point in which he should be getting a lot of looks from other teams to play on.
It's good to see something like this come about and will be there for any of the team members that make it big or need some financial help to succeed.
Next time we post, will have further information on how we're doing.
2/22/06 Well, more has happened since our last post.
Sean has been picked up by a soon to be named team, out of Mobile Alabama and consists of D2, and D3 players in which the owner/ manager of the team played for Syn.
Sean will also be going to his first PSP event or national event on April 20-23rd with this team and are so proud of his hard work and effort to achieve this. Hope he makes the "A" squad so that he can go.
James will also be going but more to watch his teammate play nationally, which is something that we've been looking forward to since we started the team.
In other news, Kenneth is no longer on the team and officially off of the roster.
His being absent from team practices, tournies, etc has left us with just Matt, Sean, and James to play as a group.
Kenneth is such a good player and with the level of skill he has, is such a great waste of talent to not car to play or go someplace in the sport we thought he so loved.
Kenneth, if you would've stuck it out like Sean, learned all you can, did the Diesel tryouts like we did, would be in the same position as Sean and probably playing on the same team as he is right now.
I (James) wish you luck my friend in whatever endeavors you have in life and hope you comeback to join usonce again.
As an original core member of Team Melee, we'll miss you Kenneth.
Lastly, we'll be practicing pretty much every week now as Sean has responsibility to his new team and I contemplate what to do with the Team Melee Paintball crew and team.
Right now, all monies will be going to Sean for his PSP events and practice.
Team Melee decisions won't be made until further notice and I have more info on Seans schedule.
5/02/06 Well, it's been awhile since our last entry so here goes.
Melee is pretty much history as far as the original core group. Matt and Kenneth have pretty much given up on the paintball thing but Kenneth is still wanting to play with Sean and James at Bob's Paintball in 'bama.
Matt has given up the game to do other things and ultimately says that he can't keep up with the pace of James and Sean. If any of the guys would've stayed with the team like Sean and James, would be at our level if not beyond. It's all in what you want out of your team and yourself. We chose to stay and go as far as paintball can take us.
Sean is playing with the MobTownArmy team out of Dawes Alabama and James is coaching the Bobcatz which is also a team that is sponsored out of Bob's Paintball.
Seans team is a D3 X-ball team and the Bobcatz are beginner/ rookie status which will be changed to rookie/ novice status if they keep playing the way they are. I've really enjoyed coaching this Bobcatz team and they enjoy learning the game and being coached.
Right now, Team Bobcatz is ready to play the WTS tourney on May 28th along with the MobTownArmy playing in the 5man event in the same tournament. Bobcatz will have two teams of 3man in and am hoping that all of their hard work and effort will yield some first and second place prizes. Bobcatz will be playing the beginner/ rookie 3 man event with 2 teams in
MobTown will have a 5 man crew in, playing the D2 division event and wish them much luck. Sean will be playing with the MobTown boys and will do his best to shoot faces off of the competition.
Lastly, we've been practicing just about every week, Sean gets better and better at his game and things are coming along nicely.
Stay tuned as I'll try to keep things a bit more up to date with us, the MobTown, and the Bobcatz.
5/25/06 It's almost time for the first event of the WTS Tournament for 2006.
Bobcatz and MobTownArmy are ready to play in this event and are hoping for podium stands.
I'll be at the tournament to be with the Bobcatz since I've been coaching them for the past couple of months and are turning outo be a pretty good team.
I'll post the results when they come in and have some pictures up soon after on a seperate page.
Sean and I will be heading out to Abbey's Paintball along with the MTA and Bobcatz on 6/11/2006. We'll be scrimmaging teams from around that area and sice their field is setup with the Chicago layout, will be perfect for the upcoming Chicago PSP event in which Sean will be playint.
On that note, Sean and I have our airline ticket ready and now just need to take care of the hotel room along with getting Jessica ready to join us in Chicago. This will be a great event and something me and Sean have been looking forward to since the inception of Team Melee.
More to come so stay tuned.

Congrats go to the Mob Town Army for their 2nd place finish.
Chicago is coming up and james, Sean, and Jessica (Seans girl) are going with the Mob Town Army for the D3 X-ball in the PSP.
We can't wait and practice will be hard.
I won't be able to play for some time but am doing alot of reffing for Bob's Paintball and should start playing again in August.
It'll then be balls to the wall practicing to get ready for World Cup in November in which Sean and I will be going.
I'll be going with the Bobcatz to spearhead the team and will be Bobcatz first time into the big leagues. D4-5man is what we'll be entering and starting to get everything ready for the big event.
I'll be ready.
More to come.
07/14/06 Well, we went to Chicago PSP Event and had a great time. Here is all of the information about the events, the games that MobTownArmy played and other things that might interest you.
Other than that, Kenneth may be making a comeback into playing with us and maybe trying out for the MTA or the Bobcatz.
Bobcatz is getting ready for the September 17th 5-man tournament at Bob's Paintball in which MTA will be reffing and I'll be playing with the Bobcatz to take them into the finals and a possible win. If things work out, Kenneth may be with me with the bobcatz team to help out in achieving the win and podium finish. Big expectations but something that I know we can do as a team.
More to come soon.
07/28/06 Practice was good for Sean, James, and Kenneth.
Kenneth brought his girlfriend with him and even got her to play some recball. Sean practiced with MTA and Kenneth with both MTA and Bobcatz.
James had his first practice in some time but only had enough paint for drills and some one on one. The drills went well and one on ones were a blast as I competed against Kendall from the MTA in one on one. We tied after 5 games of one on one and gave Kendall some good competition, earning James some "no poser" points with the MTA. lol
A couple of things to note.
The first is that MTA will be going to North Carolina for the PSP event there on Sept. 21-24th. Sean has been invited to go as well as James, doing the staff work for the Mob Town boys. We're going to try to make this event so that we both can get some more PSP experience, Sean playing D3 X-ball and me doing Pit work for the team. Believe me, Pit work is not as easy as it seems.
The second thing is the Bob's Paintball event on Sept.17th. James will be playing this 5man tournament and if things go right with Kenneth, can also be playing with me in this tournament. I hope he stays consistent and makes the BobcatZ team.
WTS Round Two is coming up in a couple of days and Sean will be playing without his Shocker. Yup, it's broken but should be fixable in short time.
We'll let you know how MTA does in the Round 2 event.
08/24/06 Practice has been going good with James and Sean and we've found out that Kenneths going to be a father. Yup, a poppa. In a way, it's good news and bad. Bad because it means Kenneth probably won't be playing for some time if at all and good because it means that maybe he can settle down with his soon to be family and get on with life in a fatherly way.
Sean has been having some good practice with MTA and MTA is ever improving their game, getting ready for D2 in PSP for Cup.
James is still struggling with his game as his personal skills are up to snuff but don't do him any good if he can't survive once he makes the bunker. Things are improving though and seems he's getting better as the weeks of practice start improving game smart and ability to think quickly, precisely.
Another note is the fact that with Sean going to Biloxi High this year, may keep him from going to any PSP events with their policy of only 6 days absent per semester. 2 semesters and only 12 days a year is a joke. More information will be obtained before we look into the gloom of it all.
Sept. 17th tournament at BobsPaintball.biz is coming soon and Bobcatz are struggling with the team and still losing players as we get closer to the event. The tournament will be paid this weekend and then will be ready to continue the World Cup fund to get us paid for the entry fee.
Jersey's and pants for the team seem to be losing hope too. Since we've first gotten all of the information about what we need, have lost about 4-5 players. Nothing is in concrete right now and will continue to press the players of Bobcatz to get the money in so we can get things going.
Another practice coming up in a few days and can't wait.
Stay tuned.
09/24/06
Congratulations for being the team I knew we were.
Considering that we've had so many things happening in the last month or so, came together to show everyone that we, the Bobcatz have what it takes to compete with the best.
8th place overall with 400 points total in a tournament of 18 teams.
I was hoping for making the finals and if we wouldn't have had the little things hurt us, would've been there with no question. 5th place in our bracket and yes, we had some hard teams in our brackets.
Those teams that were of less significance, we rolled bigtime with perfect scores.
The other teams we played that were far superior to us we gave them a time that will garner respect for Bobcatz the next time we play them.
Major props to Bryant for stepping up his game, hitting the snake every time and killing suckas that even tried to make it past him. Props to Shaun for wanting it so bad, he lept several steps in his game to be the man that he knew he could be and garnered himself a starting position on the squad. Every time I'd seen these two on the field at practice, knew they could do better and when it came time to step it up, did so with leaps and bounds. Props to Daryl and Tommy for being so consistent, for communications that wouldn't quit, and for having heart when things were down. I can see now why Tommy is the captain of the team because his leadership really shined on and off of the field with his plays, motivational speeches, and game on the field.
Daryl, you're a huge assett on this team and want you to continue to be a Bobcat. You holding the Dorito tape side was key to many of the games we won and thank you for keeping the G count high.
This core team of players we had Sunday will be a great team if we can continue to stick together, practice, and drill so that we can be that formidable team I've envisioned.
Thank you Brantley for being there in the pits with us, watching us play, and being a part of this team.
Brantley is our newest member of the Bobcatz roster and in due time, will become the paintball player that the Bobcatz can call their own. Thank you Michael for sticking by us as often as you did. You showed team spirit even though you had other duties and wish others would see this kind of dedication to the team.
I'm extremely happy with this team and all of the hard work has payed the rewards of respect for Bobcatz.
Thank you Bobcatz for making Bob proud of us to be one of his core home teams.
This is just the beginning Bobcatz.
Stay tuned.
Much love for this team.
More news.
MTA went to the Mid Atlantic Open in the PSP and had a bad run of luck with a 0-4 record.
Don't let the record fool you. Poor plays and overconservative approach to the game got them the losses and of cours, the PSP refs didn't help either. Sean went to the MAO as I stayed at home, working on the car while Sean got to shoot faces.
Going into the World Cup in November will have the MTA boys doing the Division 2 X-ball. A big move up in the ranks but one that will try the solidity of the MTA team to the fullest. Knowing the MTA, will shine in lite of the move.
Continued practice will be key to becoming the paintball player I've always wanted to be. Sean is already there but still needs the tenacity to be on top of his game.
I'll try to keep things more up to date as I've now got a home computer with internet. ;-)
04/26/07 Update.
Team Melee is back. Thanks to Sean whose constant effort to play and win has got the team back together.
With the addition of Bryant who is a great player, having played with the MTA and Bobcatz, has found himself with the Team Melee program. His addition to the crew is most welcome and believe that he'll be a great asset to the team.
Tommy, who is the youngest player right now on the roster, is also an MTA player, and Bobcatz player too. His ability to gunfight is like none other and know he'll be an even more aggressive member to the team.
Terry, and what can I say. He's played all over the world including the Millenium series, NPPL, PSP, and has been paintballing for probably over 20 years. Team Melee more than welcomes his experience to the team and with his leadership ability, skill, and knowledge of the game, will be a great addition.
So far, with the above crew and two of the core players in the team, have been playing some great paintball.
We''ve been doing some serious thinking of where we're going to take this team. We do plan on doing alot of local events including 3man, and 5 man events.
Right now, we're trying to get this team together, grouping out abilities, and wanting to become a great team, even better than the core team.
Our first tournament as a team in a 3man event, yielded us with a 3rd place victory at Bob's Paintball, 3man free man Open event. With a few less mistakes made during the tournament, we should've taken 1st place. But then again, we're not perfect yet.
We will try to keep this updated as much as possible.
05/09/07
Another tournament for the team. This one will be at Abbey's Paintball in McComb Mississippi. It will be a benefit tournament in which the entry fees are going to be donated to the American Red Cross.
Other fields will be helping with reffing, prizes, and teams from Alabama, Ms, and Louisiana are going to be in this tournament.
May12th is when we'll be playing so hope we do good and come home with some goods.
Everything is going good with the team with no roster changes as of yet.
I'll post up on how the event takes place.
06/19/07
We got 4 place in the Abbey's tournament which is not bad.
We played good but could've won the whole thing if we tried a bit harder and made a few less mistakes.
Unfortunately for the team, it's once again disbanded.
With work schedules, career moves, and other happenings to all that have played for the team, we are not longer.
What will happen with the future of the team, nobody knows.
This will be the last entry to a team that has come a long way from the start.
I'd like to thand everyone that has played for this team, tried out for the team, and all of the teams we've played against.
There are many memories with this team and will be something that I'll never ever forget.
God bless to all.
